Namaste,
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to our Agricultural Science Department Page. Agriculture is the art, science and business of cultivating the soil, producing crops and raising livestock which is useful to people. Agriculture provides most of the world's food and fabrics. Cotton, wool, and leather are all agricultural products. Agriculture also provides wood for construction and paper products. History reveals that agriculture first began when people learned how to dig soil and plant crops in it. At secondary level, the concept taught introduces students to the broad topics related to the production and business of agriculture. It is a hands-on subject that lets you investigate and explore ideas, systems, issues and challenges in agriculture. It also develops skills in planning and evaluating, problem solving, decision making, crop husbandry, livestock husbandry, value adding and entrepreneurship.
Agriculture as a subject is offered to all levels. Three streams each at junior level and two streams each at senior level.
Thanking you all for browsing through our Green Corner. Hope that the information given in this page will broaden your knowledge and understanding about Agriculture and its importance.
“Educating youth about -- and instilling an interest in -- agriculture is about more than looking at a number on a budget line. It is about recognizing an investment in the state's future.”
