Namaste and Bula Vinaka to one and all.
It has been an honor and privilege for me to be leading this department. The support, hard work and tenacious enthusiasm of my department staff, students, Principal, Management and other stakeholders is greatly appreciated.
While our core emphasis of the department is to improve the academic performance, we also engage in providing a commitment to holistic, innovative, responsive and empowering quality skill education.
Home Economics is a subject concerning human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science and preparation, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, and consumer issues today.
Home Economic as a subject allows students to plan for possible career paths, develop practical skills for employment, understand the importance of nutrition, learn about appropriate childcare practices, financial literacy, resource management, parenting and the art of positive communication.
The Home Economic course allows students to acquire skills and knowledge about food and textiles through practical experience. New products are developed and tested in the food labs. These hands on experiences are always appreciated by the students.
Year after year we allow students to show their talents in their project work and this is later reflected on our activity page.
The Home economics department is committed to e-learning to enhance learning for our cybernetic generation. It is extremely important to invest in modern technology for our department to be globally competitive and pandemic resistant. I urge my department to take ownership of this, irrespective of how challenging it might be.
I take this opportunity to convey my best wishes to all the students who would be biding the department adieu. I wish you all a bright and blooming future. Your journey does not end here but in fact it begins.
Finally, I would like to convey my thoughtful message of safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times to embrace the new normal.
